– Carpatina Dolls ushers in the Chinese New Year in style with exotic beauty Ana Ming. The latest doll from the Carpatina Fantasy Adventures Collection, Ana Ming celebrates the rich heritage of Asian cultures.
Like other Carpatina creations, Ana Ming is a slim-bodied 18" vinyl doll designed for collectors of all ages. And like the other three dolls in the collection, the character sprang from designer and Carpatina founder Mihaela Hinkle's love of history and mythology. As Hinkle explained, "I like both my dolls and their clothing to tell a story that resonates with the magic of the past. That narrative makes the collection more than just merchandise, both for me and my customers. Ana Ming gives me the chance to explore Asian cultures-the history, folklore, and legends-and share it with Carpatina collectors."
In addition, Hinkle will be introducing the first outfit designed for the character: the Yuan Princess Gown. With embroidered teal robe and peony pink underskirt, the richly detailed dress is in keeping with the other lavish outfits in the Carpatina Fantasy Adventures Collection.
Hinkle also has more treasures in store at Toy Fair for fans of her Girlfriends Collection. The line of clothing and accessories for 18" cloth-bodied dolls has proven just as popular as her Carpatina Collection. In fact, customer demand inspired Hinkle to create four special historical dresses for Girlfriends collectors. "My customers tell me they want but can't find historical and fantasy clothing for the cloth-bodied dolls," noted Hinkle. "So I'll be offering French, German, English, and Spanish Princess Dresses, inspired by the fashions of 1100-1200." The four dresses will feature linen and velveteen fabrics and lace, embroidery, and jewel trims.
